When I was 12 I sat my parents down and told them that I knew what I wanted to do with my life. I would be a writer. My mother shrieked and my father shot up from his chair and yelled. They were horrified. I’ve been horrifying parents ever since.

I wrote poetry and told stories. I drew comics. This is ordinary for kids. They are extremely creative. Unlike most, I kept going.

I began taking photos at 17 when i bought a secondhand Nikkormat. I played in a blues band at 17. I started a tax-exempt performing corpopration, Monster In The Closet, Inc., at 23. We ran hundreds of shows in Brooklyn. Rock and Roll bands, jazz quintets, punk bands, dance troupes and more. We ran Haitian art fairs..In 1974 we ran one of the first Gay Poetry Festivals,. We had Sun Ra play a concert for us in the Cengtral Park bandshell. It drew over 10,000 listeners.. We brought poets into every high school in the five boroughs. We had: Bob Holman, Pedro Pietri, Alex Caldiero and Barbara Holland. We had a radio shiow, The Absence of Silence, on WNYC for 4 years. Interviewing John Cage, Stan Lee, Henny Youngman, Isaac Bashevis Singer and Eubie Blake.

I joined a dada art/punk band and we played the East Coaxt for 4 years. We played CBGB, Max’s Kansas City, Great Gildersleeves, Red Fox Inn, I raed poetry at Viridian Gallery, Club 57 and St. Marks Church.. In 2017 I joined an art website, ELLO. There I posted writing and photographs. In 4 1/2 years I had over 2,500,000 views. I met and befriended many wonderful artists there until its demise in 2022.

I wrote 4 novels over 25 years. I married twice, second time. Marina, a winner who taught me how to LOVE, and I have two grown daughters, Inka & Nomi. They are perhaps, the most creative thing I have ever done.
